Farm clearances

Farm & agricultural scrap

The farming community has been one of our core customer groups since 1983. We know farm scrap, we know farm access, and we know it usually needs shifting around the season rather than to our diary.

From one redundant implement in the nettles to a full yard clear-out, we will look at what you have, tell you honestly what is worth moving and get it away with plant that can actually reach it.

What we take off farms

Redundant tractors, balers, ploughs, harrows, trailers and other implements; milking parlour and dairy equipment; grain driers, augers and elevators; water and fuel tanks; troughs, gates, hurdles and stock fencing; corrugated sheeting and structural steel from barns and portal-frame buildings; old Land Rovers, pickups and vans; copper and cable from redundant wiring; and general heavy iron that has piled up in a corner over the years.

Access we can work with

Farm scrap is rarely somewhere convenient. We use our own grab loaders and lorries and will talk through gateways, soft ground, low branches and yard space before we come, so nobody wastes a trip. If a load is too big or too awkward for one lift, we will plan it over more than one visit.

Buildings and bigger jobs

Taking down a redundant grain store, barn or steel-framed shed is dismantling work rather than collection, and we do that too — with our own plant, including a mobile 40-tonne Euromech shear that cuts heavy steel where it stands. See industrial dismantling for that side of the work.

Paperwork and payment

We are a licensed scrap metal dealer and registered waste carrier, so you get a proper record of what left your farm. Payment is by bank transfer — the law does not allow scrap dealers to pay cash — and we will need photo ID and proof of address the first time we deal with you.

Getting a price

Ring the yard on 01270 611447 and tell us roughly what you have, or send photos through the form below. Prices move daily with the metal markets, so we will quote you against what we are paying that week rather than a figure off a website.

    Tell us what you have

Ring the yard on 01270 611447 or send the details through the form — a photo helps us judge it quickly.

  2. 02

    We quote you honestly

We tell you what we are paying today for that grade, and whether it is worth us collecting or better brought in.

  3. 03

    Collection or drop-off

We collect with our own lorries and grab loaders, or you turn up in opening hours and we help you unload.

  4. 04

    Weighed, graded and paid

Your load is weighed on approved scales and paid straight into your bank — no cash, as the law requires.

Good to know

Farm & agricultural scrap — questions we get asked

Can you get a lorry down our farm track?

Usually, yes — we work off farms every week and use our own grab loaders and lorries. Tell us about gateways, soft ground, low branches and turning space when you ring and we will send something that fits, or plan the job over more than one visit.

Will you take old tractors and implements that are seized up?

Yes. Redundant tractors, balers, ploughs, trailers and other implements are normal work for us, whether they roll or not.

Do you clear farm buildings as well as loose scrap?

Yes. Grain stores, barns, portal-frame sheds and dairy buildings are dismantling work rather than collection, and we do that with our own plant including a mobile 40-tonne Euromech shear.

How much will you pay for my scrap metal?

Scrap prices move daily with the metal markets, so we do not publish rates. Ring the yard on 01270 611447 and we will tell you exactly what we are paying today for what you have.

Is there a minimum load for collection?

It depends on the metal and how far away you are — a small load of copper is worth collecting when a small load of light steel may not be. Give us a ring on 01270 611447 and we will tell you honestly.

Not sure what your scrap is worth?

Prices move daily. Give us a ring and we'll tell you what we're paying today — no obligation, no nonsense.
