Bins & containers

Scrap bins & containers

If metal builds up at your premises week in, week out, a bin or container on site turns it from a waste problem into a payment.

We place bins and containers sized to your space and the metal you generate, then swap or empty them on a schedule that suits you — or simply when you ring to say it is full.

Who uses them

Engineering and fabrication shops with daily offcuts; garages and commercial vehicle workshops; electrical contractors with cable and fittings; manufacturers segregating swarf, sheet and turnings; farms and estates with a steady trickle of iron; and construction sites where metal needs keeping out of the muck-away skip.

Bins, containers or skips?

Small stillages and bins suit non-ferrous and cable, where value is high and volume low. Open containers suit steel and mixed metal. If what you are clearing is mixed waste rather than metal, a skip is the right answer, and we can supply both to the same site.

Segregation pays

Separate containers for steel, stainless, aluminium, copper and cable pay materially better than one mixed bin, because mixed metal has to be graded down. We will help you set up something workable for your staff rather than something that looks tidy on paper.

Accounts and paperwork

Every collection is weighed and documented, with waste transfer paperwork and a clear record of grades and weights for your own reporting. Account facilities are available for regular customers.

Arranging it

Ring the yard on 01270 611447 or send the form below with your location, the metals you generate and roughly how much a week. We will suggest container sizes and a collection pattern, and tell you what we are paying for the grades involved.

Good to know

Scrap bins & containers — questions we get asked

What size bins and containers can you supply?

From small stillages and bins for cable and non-ferrous through to open containers for steel and mixed metal. We size them to your space and how much metal you generate.

How often do you empty them?

On whatever pattern suits you — a set schedule, or simply when you ring to say it is full.

Is it worth separating the metals?

Yes, materially. Separate containers for steel, stainless, aluminium, copper and cable pay better than one mixed bin, because mixed metal has to be graded down.

How is my scrap weighed?

Everything is weighed on site on approved scales and sorted by grade, so you can see exactly what you have brought in and what it is being paid as.

How much will you pay for my scrap metal?

Scrap prices move daily with the metal markets, so we do not publish rates. Ring the yard on 01270 611447 and we will tell you exactly what we are paying today for what you have.

Not sure what your scrap is worth?

Prices move daily. Give us a ring and we'll tell you what we're paying today — no obligation, no nonsense.
