Who we are

What we collect

• Enquiries and quote requests: your name, phone number, email address, the town you are in, what you have told us about the job and any photographs you attach.
• Reviews: the name and town you choose to publish, your rating and your comments.
• Transactions: where we buy metal from you, the identification and address details and the payment details that scrap metal legislation requires us to record.
• Website use: basic technical information such as your browser type and pages visited, used to keep the site working and secure.

Why we hold it, and our lawful basis

• To answer your enquiry, quote for work and carry it out — our legitimate interests, and the performance of a contract where you go ahead.
• To publish a review you have submitted — your consent, given when you send it. You can ask us to remove it at any time.
• To keep the records required of a licensed scrap metal dealer and registered waste carrier — our legal obligations. See our compliance page.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information and we do not pass it to anyone for marketing. We share it only with the suppliers that run this website and our systems on our behalf, with our accountants and professional advisers, and with the police, local authority, DVLA or Environment Agency where the law requires or permits it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept while we are dealing with them and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to us. Transaction and identification records are kept for the period scrap metal and tax legislation requires. Published reviews are kept until you ask us to remove them.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it, object to our using it, or withdraw consent for a published review. If you are not happy with how we have handled things you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies and local storage

This site uses only what it needs to function. If you start filling in an enquiry form, a draft of what you have typed is saved in your own browser so nothing is lost if you navigate away; it is cleared when you send the form and never leaves your device until you do.
